Official: 140 Finnish companies cut business in Russia since Feb

MOSCOW, Jul 20 (PRIME) -- More than 140 Finnish companies have cut business in Russia to some extent in recent months, Russia's trade representative in Helsinki Anton Loginov told PRIME on Wednesday.

“We estimate that more than 140 Finnish companies have decided to reduce their activities in Russia in recent months. Some of the companies sold their assets (Valio, Paulig, YIT, SOK, Fazer, Raiso, Ponsse, Hesburger, Atria) or transferred them to local management (Stora Enso, Kone, MIF), some put them up for sale (Kiilto, Nokian Tyres, Fortum),” he said.

Some service companies closed their offices in Moscow and St. Petersburg, while equipment manufacturers cancelled Russian orders and stopped contract manufacturing, he added.
